Looks to me like Seven are trying to increase her profile ready for if and when Jeff Newman retires.

Can't read an A-C, moves his head around like on of those toy dogs you sit at the front of your car and his ad-libbing is up there with Simon Reeves.
But he will stay for a while yet; Meakin likes his presenters to be male.

I can't see Neil Warren working well on double-headers...
I didn't mind Patrick Condren first off, but the other night he kind of annoyed me when he signed off and while Kay turned to him for the "friendly banter" while the theme played, he stared directly into the camera like a deer in headlights. It looked very strange.
On the other hand I'm really enjoying John Schulter's addition to the team. The weather on National Nine News was always fantastic with him presenting, and I honestly can't understand for the life of me how they let him walk. Very, very stupid decision Nine! It seems now that he's doing some special reports on Global Warming and Climate Change, so they should be interesting at least.
If I were Talitha, I would be a little worried about her job, although I think John teamed with Sharyn on weekends will a strong team.
It's quite clear that Seven News in Brisbane now has probably the strongest presenting team in the State, if not the country. Rod Young, Kay McGrath, Pat Welsh, Talitha Cummins and now Sharyn Ghidella and John Schulter. It's quite amazing really!
