This morning Today changed its whole graphics package to modern look (again - second time this year, but this one a major one) & most people think that they are made for HD (which Today broadcast in HD.)

One problem is that now the Channel 9 "logo cube" spins around (just like their promos/idents) & WIN have covered it up (like they always do) with their version of the "logo cube," which covers up the infomation super & Karl said that they are going to talk to WIN & see what they can do!

You really shouldn't be taking his caps Jeff....

A bit cluttered, but nothing too hideoous. Win have lost the plot.

It appears - from those angles - that the inside curves of the 9 are back as well, and the 9 is thicker. ;)

That's right. Until damo decides to post his caps himself, I've removed the caps that have been posted by Jeff.

But never fear; you can see the new graphics package on the Today show website, in the video section :).

Anyway, watching this video, I'm not quite sure about the new look. I really like the animation, but it just looks far too big and cluttered.

Nothing I say should be taken seriously. Unless it ends with an exclamation mark.

He did give the capper credit though.

Indeed. But I'd look at it this way; I wouldn't be impressed if I had my caps posted on any other website without permission, even if credit was given. :)

I agree, although WIN really should stop blocking the supers, it is fine by me for them to cover up the logo, but that really goes too far.

If that logo cube was used for all Nine's public affairs shows, I'd welcome it.

:clapping:. I wasn't aware that they covered everything up on NWS9. That's a disgrace for a metro station.

I don't watch TODAY, what is it that they're attempting to cover up exactly?

NWS9 having a local overlay? You're joking, right?

EDIT: You weren't joking. What were they hiding?

From the Tips and Rumours section in today's Crikey...

Crikey said:

Peter FitzSimons is in the frame to replace Karl Stefanovic on the Today show next year. His radio contract won't be renewed. It's seen as an answer to the troubles that Sunrise has given the Today show. FitzSimons' blokey charm and the chemistry between him and his wife Lisa Wilkinson is expected to work in the style of the successful Richard and Judy morning program on UK TV.
