Both the commercial and government media in this country are symptomatic of the avaricious, small-minded,shallow, ultra-capitalistic mentality of the late 20th-early 21st century.

One section is riddled with female-centrism [not only the abc but often as not the commercial sector too], while the other is blunt orthodox mysoginistic and ferociously over-commercialised [murdoch news-channel 9] or they may contain both aspects a mix of female-centrism in with hard mysogny-overcommercialisation for the full advantage[channels 7 and 10, foxtel].

Both aspects however are acutely unaware of how irrelevant and uninvolved they both are in actual fact to most reasonabley intelligent people.
The internet is thankfully bringing them back to the ground with rather a thud and its about time too.

Finally with internet blogging many of the people that formerly controlled both sections of the media [commercial or govt] including newspaper publications[murdoch,packer] no longer are the sole voices, there are now newer more independant voices to listen to and hear and display and lay open the often insignificant under-intelligence of the formerly unimpeachable job secure dispositions of the journalistic elite and others within traditional media roles, such as radio national, 2gb,6pr,6wn,channel 7,ch-9,10 etc,etc.

This idiot mentality in the australian media that demeans the intelligence of its watchers by taking up certain words or 'mantras', for instance the word 'young' which of recent times has become the most overused word of all these

idiotic overpaid overvalued sporting commentaters [abc ones definately included here],
and newsreaders [not abc ones generally],
current affairs commentators [from both commercial and non unfortunately]

as though repeating it over and over that the continued overusing of such a word gives these some sort of magical hold over their viewers and they will see higher ratings or something, or maybe its kind of a water torture instrument meant for certain individuals that resent being brainwashed by greedy self-serving manipulating idiots.

Such rediculous extremes of imbecility basically because our media is full off its own self-importance and has been so long now in the hands of hangers-on and cretins and spivs and washed up inbred necrophiliac morons.

I understood each individual word, but fail to see how any of that results in understandable sentences, especially rabbling on about 'female-centrism', whatever that is. That Gender politics post of yours made even less sense than this one.

You mention blogs and then complain about the media demeaning your intelligence. You can go off and get all your news from what ever source you want, there are so many outlets you can find your favourite mix of words and what you think fits your intelligence level. Obviously quite a lot of people are quite happy to be 'demeaned' and have 'mantras' thrown at them, which is why so many people still watch those people who you have listed and the programs the networks make, or read those news papers.
