Well that goes without saying... It's a political public affairs channel. :)

As usual the American networks are going over the top with this. The coverage for this goes for 10 hours on quite a few channels  :helpsmilie:

Makes sense... no one will be watching them so this was an easy way of filling time :P

Seriously though, what a waste of time. No one is going to watch 10 hours of this stuff. I want to see his speech just as much as anyone else, but he's not going to be there for 10 hours - most likely he'll only be there for 30 minutes (I have no idea how this stuff works) so why the television channels are running this stuff for so long is beyond me

TCN are having issues with covering the breaks too. They just came out of commercials into American commercials and then crashed back to local commercials.

Interesting... I thought Nine had a clean feed of ABC available to them? If not now then they have in the past, so why not now?

They're probably taking off-air via a PacTV to Globecast fiber. For the Election coverage last year they at least had a 16:9 feed. Tonight they're airing GMA in 4:3. :ermm:

Nine are airing GMA on a 60 second turn-around. It's not actually completely live! :nonono:

If they're running it on delay then they have no excuse for screwing up something as simple as commercial breaks. This is Nine we are talking about though, but I expected better of TCN.

Exactly!!! The whole point of the 60 second turn-around would be so that the pres co-ord can monitor the live feed coming in for break outcues giving them 60 seconds prior warning to go to the break cleanly. It would also give them the ability to time the break and adjust their break duration on the fly to cover the full break.

That's about the standard of WIN with their pres of STW.

Exactly - that kind of thing I would expect from STW and WIN, but TCN are usually a lot better than that.

Niceeee..... STW just came out of the movie, played a station ID and then crashed straight into GMA live. They're also covering up the ABC News logo with a solid dottless Nine in a blue box. :puke:

You betcha it's gonna be historic... that's why I have a...

Checklist for Obama's Inauguration
1. Computer with TV Tuner. [Check.]
2. 100GB free space to record the whole 4 hours. [Check.]
3. A good DVB-T attenna connecton. [Clear enough.]
4. A YouTube account to upload those 4 hours of coverage. [Check.]
5. Baileys Irish Cremé. [I made a pass on the Champaigne. Check.]

I was gonna get Foxtel installed in time for CNN & BBCWN coverage, but, alas, I was not able to organise something in, what, 24 hours?

Yeah I saw that too!

I dunno what was worse, the fact they missed the start of the break or the fact that when they finally did go to the break they ran an STW news promo! :P

This is WIN might I rhetorically remind you.
Pres op was probably out of the room on a toilet break or something.

That said tris, ABC America isn't the pierre de resistance of television news, so I was expecting from the start it would be crap.
AJE's coverage looks promising, we shall see.....

Some people only have FTA Digital...

I would prefer NBC or CBS but they dont start until the real business.
Boy did that adbreak go on forever and a rough intro back.
