That WA Today article said this year's Telethon will be his last Posted Image

Really? I never thought he'd give up his duties as 'Mr Telethon'. It is only once a year after all...

My thoughts too. They will have to drag him out for Telethon.

Typical PerthNow reporting though... "After forty years in television, the man labelled Mr Telethon signed off Channel Seven’s 6PM weather forecast for the last time today."

If he still has a month to go, how can it be his last time today? :nonono:

Well, now I have the highest quality rickroll on the internet :P Useful as the large download pisses off people twice as much.

Agreed. He most certainly deserves a decent farewell. Unfortunately that isn't TVW's strong point but Jeff is deserving of one. Will be interesting to see how they do it - it's not unrealistic for them to give him his own show... possibly by dedicating TT to him on his last night - although hopefully they just do an extended TVW News and ditch TT for the night.

You just have to remember when Kevin Crease had to retire from NWS due to bad health he left on sad terms, so in this instance you'd think they want to make Jeff's send off huge while he is still able to enjoy it for many years to come.

Thanks for the video. Some great footage there, although I do think it was poor form for them to include it in the opener like that :nonono:

Good point. Usually their careers end on sad terms, it's good to see someone leaving on good terms for a change.

Jeff will be sadly missed. This reminds me Mike Munro hosted This Is Your Life while on channel 9 and as he is on Channel 7 now hosting Sunday Night (will be back next year) he can always host This Is Your Life and do a thing on Jeff Newman.
