I've been watching some streams online (Seven and Nine both have online streaming... didn't look anywhere else) and Seven's national coverage is pretty ordinary IMO. Nine seemed to have a far better product with this.

The Seven stream was Melbourne based because all of the commercials and promos were about Melbourne, and they're going overboard promoting Peter Mitchell as some king of news in every commercial break (which seems to be every 5 minutes too) <_<

Most of the packages are replays of earlier content... waste of air time replaying old crap. If they can't go live then they might as well forget it and just go to regular programming.

Agreed. A lot of Nine's coverage has come directly out of QTQ's news studio and has generally been excellent. Anchored by Brisbane based or Brisbane born presenters that know the areas affected. Seven's coverage is vastly coming out of Sydney and is generally just the same packages and compiles being shown over and over again. Plus it's been anchored by Sydney and Melbourne presenters that generally aren't too in touch with Brisbane.

What the hell? You guys admitting Nine has a better product than Seven :o :o :o

I'm expecting to see snow outside tomorrow

In this case, yes. Although locally TVW wins hands down over STW.

1. TVW did 30 minute local bulletins at 4pm, 6pm and 9.30pm
2. STW were on a 3-hour delay all day and during primetime last night and early this morning.

I can't say I've watched much FTA at all, Foxtel and the internet have all the bases covered :)

In this case, yes. Seven have been using no-name (on a national level) presenters with pre-recorded and repeated packages with commercials every 5 minutes. There was some good live coverage during the day but once night sets in the repetition starts. There's only so much of the same thing you can watch before it gets boring and serves no purpose. Nine at least have been far better with the live coverage and are using their best presenters.

Why Seven have been running this out of Sydney and Melbourne I'll never understand. Unless BTQ has no mains power (unlikely because of where they are located) then the whole thing should be coming from there. Even if BTQ was out of operation they could run it from the Local News studios.

Like cartman said though, none of this will make any difference in Perth where STW have screwed themselves over yet again by running on a 3 hour delay. How pathetic.

Interesting fact: The BTQ carpark has been turned into a makeshift helipad with the ATN and BCM choppers joining the BTQ chopper at Mt Cootha.

As of about 25 minutes ago, the Prime brand is effectively dead (outside of local news, I guess). I'm guessing GWN will be the same?

Thanks Anthony :)

It's dreadful. I said at the time of the last relaunch that they couldn't get any worse. Well, there you have it - the most dreadful news presentation I've ever had the misfortune to see. It's 6pm with Negus, or nothing, for me now.
