Here are some WIN News videos from the Toowoomba region in Queensland :)
WIN NEWS TOOWOOMBA

Well I have got to say, this bulletin has grown a lot since Anne Louise Kruger has taken over reading – although some of the reporters still need a lot of work to even make them worth listening to without cringing.

WIN NEWS LATE EDITION

This bulletin can be summed up with one word – shit. It is the biggest waste of TV time in the world, and Peter Taylor can’t even pronounce names right. And what gets me, he stuffs up a lot, yet they don’t re-record the bit he stuffed up even thought it is pre-recorded

WIN NEWS VIDEO

Jessica Good filled in for Kerryn tonight on WIN News WA. She did a good job -- even pronounced Albany correctly. :clapping:

Video: Right click here and save as (6:31, 21mb)

Attached Image: WIN_News_2006_08_01_Jessica_Good_1.jpgAttached Image: WIN_News_2006_08_01_Jessica_Good_2.jpg]Attached Image: WIN_News_2006_08_01_Jessica_Good_3.jpg

WIN News finally sent Kalgoorlie reporter Jessica Hayes to Esperance. GWN sent their Kalgoorlie reporter, Blake Johnson, to Esperance last Thursday. Oh, and the weather segment is still bodge. <_<

EDIT - Mustn't have been thinking last night. I dated the video file "2006-08-01" instead of "2007-01-08" :P

I would suspect so considering WIN are the Nine Network's major regional affiliate. Although changes may not come until whatever agreement WIN has with Network Ten expires.

Last Wednesday GWN used Julian Duncan for the report on the Esperance storm. Blake Johnson might have been down here, but I figured he was still in Kalgoorlie or he would've done the report.

The newspaper's are suggesting WIN is still interested in buying STW. If that were to occur, I wonder what would happen with WIN WA's news situation?

GWN are well established across WA and therefore have the OB facilities required to do live crosses. I'm sure over time that WIN will expand their SNG facilities around the state to also allow for a similar level of live coverage for big news events in regional WA.

GWN wouldn't have SNG stuff it's way too expensive for a regional! i'm pretty sure they shared 7's stuff because the background in both GWN's cross and 7's cross was exactly the same ie. they were done in the same spot with the one satellite dish???

Given the vast region that they cover I would imagine that GWN have at least one portable satellite dish available for deployment when required. They more than likely do use Seven's SNG gear and bring the feed down via TVW where possible though.

I saw that one coming. I think it's a sensible move personally. :)

Doing the bulletin out of Wollongong was costing WIN a fortune in fiber bookings to get the feed back to Transmission at NEW10 in Perth.

Now that WIN own STW9 there are opportunities for them to save money by ditching their rented premises at Network Ten and moving their Transmission and News presentation to all under the one roof at Nine Perth.

Next on the agenda, I think they'll look at airing Perth's National Nine News at 6:30pm on WIN WA, like all other WIN station's do. Previously this wasn't possible due to the lack of co-operation from Sunraysia Television when it owned STW9.

Integration. That's the key tool underpinning any operation.

It may be considered a word, but it looks horrible and is rarely used. How often do you hear someone say "earlier today we broadcasted live from Slj's house in Balga"? They don't. They say "earlier today we broadcast live from Slj's house in Balga". Broadcast takes the meaning of both and it's more widely accepted that way.

I'm shocked that dictionary.com says it is a word to be honest, no other spell checkers or dictionaries that I know of have said it's a word :dontknow:

You'd say neither because both are factually false. :P
