It will all make sense when WIN establishes it's own national news service and ditches the increasingly sub standard N9N.

Yer, but for the time being they should still leave Ten News, because that's a good lead into WIN News, instead of putting the poor-rating National Nine News.

I totally agree. They should have retained Ten News until at least digital is 100% rolled out. At least then they have a legit reason to affiliate with STW. To be honest, it'd be better to see no national news at all after digital and keep WIN News at 6pm, nothing else.

I wouldn't be so sure. Both Yahoo!7 and yourTV guides confirm it, dot-hey-au who is a proven good source has confirmed it on MediaScrap, and I called STW today who told me that N9N will be on air by "the end of the month"....

New promo for WIN News WA. It looks like Amy Taylor could be the new anchor. Perhaps in Perth too, as the promo is made by STW. Monday here we go!

Indeed she is. :)

Smart move by WIN going straight into the news off the back of the 5pm program. No break, no station ID, no chance for viewers to think about flicking over to GWN.

They're cross promoting NNN at 6pm too. Amy just said "We'll have more about the horse flu outbreak in the national news with Dixie Marshall at 6 o'clock".

Yeah, talk about accelerated flow :P I wonder if they'll promote the lead N9N story towards the end of the bulletin, like GWN?

Still from Wollongong though, folks.

They should also use Natalia on the weather, replacing the crap they still dish up for weather.

WIN News WA will come from Wollongong for a few more weeks while the news studio at STW is re-configured to allow the broardcast of WIN News.

I bloody hope not!!

Although why ditch Kerryn Johnston for Amy Taylor if it's only for the sake of a couple of weeks prior to relocating the bulletin to Perth? :dontknow:

Perhaps Amy is coming West??

I hope so.

When I was in the STW newsroom last week the win people (Peter, Caroline Winchza (sp?) and a older male) were stuffed in a corner and seemed almost ostracized from the group. So I doubt a STW journo would present it.

That generally happens when you have outsiders come into a newsroom from another organisation and share resources. I'm sure the STW news crew will get used to the WIN News team after a while and they'll all work happily together. :)

They all work for the same company after all. It just takes some people time to get used to the fact that they have more work to do as a result of things changing. Especially the Studio crew who I'm sure won't be happy about being on-air for an extra 30 minutes a day and having a short turn-around from WIN News into Perth's NNN.

Yeah lets hope so.

The signs around STW-9 have changed to a giant blue map of australia (not like their current one, more styled and better looking) with big WIN letters and a smaller 9 logo (old style the one before my signature) and the SELEC TV logo under that. Also where the swimming pool was its now brick with cream bricks making out a WIN. looks shit house. :P

The whole STW9 building is a falling apart shithole. The last time I was there it looked like it needed to be knocked down! :P

It is old but it has character something that the newer studios eg martin place & ABC's East Perth Center lack. All they need to do is Refubish the inside and it will be fine. Once they get the money :P
