TVW HD was showing SAS for a couple of minutes at 6pm. I tuned in to watch the news and got some Christmas kids movie. When the ad break came on it was advertising a special report Moday night on Adelaide's Seven News.

Is anyone else suprised by the amount of Tennis Seven has shown this year? I don't recall them ever showing as many matches or so many in Primetime slots. The new and improved Brisbane tournament has seemingly added over a week of Tennis to their schedule.

I would have thought that after the soft ratings for the AUS Open last year and the lack of any real Australian contenders this year, they would not want viewers tired of tennis before the real stuff begins.

--------

Whilst I am in this thread, is the Grey's Anatomy Promo for 2009 the lamest thing ever? It speaks of change, but only features those two dopey eyed doctors. If that is all that is on offer this year, no wonder it got smacked by CSI last night in the USA- 23mill to 13mill. Abysmal.

Yeah, advertising stuff that happened last year is really lame. (you mean 2009? :P)

Yeah, I was also surprised by the amount of hours they've wasted on tennis this month. It's gotten a bit excessive this year, with meaningless games and meaningless tournaments clogging the schedule and putting viewers to sleep.

It's daytime television, what, you'd rather some B or C grade midday movie and then a repeat of (insert random show)?

Well, obviously no, but I'd prefer either the Morning News or the 4:30 News to go to air (preferably both).

ARRRGH! For how many years do I have to wait till the Australian Open, or all the sporting coverage done by Seven, will be in HD?
It's called a HD channel, why the fuck don't they use it?

Please explain?

EDIT: I think I might have worked out how this has been done - the audio is from an American channel 7? And the video compiled from various Seven promos? If so well done.

Seven have got rid of the word 'Digital' from under the 7 logo watermark on their SD channels.

Not sure if this is the best place to put it...

Northbridge Link gets go-ahead

As part of the Scheme Amendment, permission has been granted for development to begin on the Channel Seven owned Perth Entertainment Centre.

“We envisage our land to be developed as both a residential and commercial site,” Channel Seven’s project director Steven Wise said.

No decision has been made as to whether the development of the area will include the shift of Channel Seven studios into the CBD, however Mr Wise said there has been discussions about the re-zoning of the network.

“There is a very strong desire to bring Seven (studios) into the city.”

As has been suspected for a while now...

That's the first thing I thought of as well. Much the same sort of talk on Seven News itself tonight.

It would never work because the Perth CBD is a ghost town after 6pm thanks to our backward trading laws. All you see are passed out homeless people.

Seven came back from a break about 30 seconds too early during today's live NBC coverage of Michael Jackson's death. An NBC logo went to air for about 20 seconds followed by the Seven crash slide. :)

Seven have now squeezed in an extra stream for their upcoming new digital channel. The stream is currently using channel 72 with the vast majority of the new stream's bitrate coming from 7HD.
We bid farewell to Australian-Media.
And we say G'day to The Out House.

Gee and they wonder why we all download our TV shows. They're eroding the bandwidth of each channel down to nothing when it's already inadequate. We all said it would happen if multichannels were allowed.

It's great to see Seven finally showing the Australian Open in high definition this year on 7HD. Now the question is whether they'll do this with the V8 Supercars or at least in a better capacity the AFL. No doubt the V8 fans would love it considering how dodgy the Seven SD telecasts tend to be in terms of picture quality.

AFL looks pathetic in SD. There is no excuse for not having those games broadcast in HD.
