Ages ago, on January 7th, 1998, I launched The TARDIS Zone, a Doctor Who fansite. Later, there was The "Unsinkable" Titanic. Until now, they were last updated in January 1999.

But today, four years after revival work began and over a year since I started the current development, The Longbow has been created.

Cue Also Sprach Zarathustra.

The Longbow, at the moment, is still mostly a Doctor Who-only site, but it will expand, hopefully by my planned launch date of 7th January, next year (for all that 10th birthday jazz).

But I want to share my progress, my journey, my stylesheet of pwnage... more importantly, I want to know if anyone's having trouble with the site before I finalise the finalisation process of the finalised design which I've finalised.

So here it is, folks, The Longbow.

Expect banality. Expect bodge-ness. Expect... fully-W3C-validated HTML and CSS.

Eat that, IE.

Indeed. I wish IE would die already. It's lack of decent HTML and CSS support gives me the shits

Thanks. Do you know how many designs I tried? And half of them didn't work in IE, either!

Hey, I put a lot of effort into making it valid. Turns out I was still typing HTML 4, but most was valid XHTML 1.0. :D

Heh, it doesn't work with anything. The main logo on my site is pushed down by one pixel. Do you know what untold damage that could do? I lost a 1px border and the rounded corner had a 1px blue line on top of it!

Ridiculous!

Still a cool site, but I have some hesitation about downloading Firefox such as security, ease of navigation and transfer of favourite websites. Any "try before you buy" links?

Wow, it's like I've died and went to heaven. But then they realized it wasn't my time yet. So they sent me to a brewery.
