Staggering figures for Alan Jones. Where'd he pull that extra 2% from?
Once again, it's 2GB first and daylight 2nd. They increased every slot except Weekends, and even that was only a 0.1% loss. The only slot they don't dominate is Drive, which has been a problem for them since what seems the dawn of time. What are they doing right that 2UE isn't?
In Sydney, Vega collapsed but still finished ahead of Triple M, whilst WSFM and 2UE also lost listeners. Looking at the breakfast numbers in particular, I suspect those listeners switched specifically to WS/Vega/2UE when Jones was away, but then flocked back to 2GB when Jones returned.
The demos are interesting too. 2Day and Nova clean up the three between 10 and 39, 702 wins 40-54 (2GB 3rd behind WS), and 2GB cleans up 55+ and Groceries. Somehow that translates into a strong win for 2GB overall.
Doesn't look like the cricket helped 702 too much, although they did manage a very small increase. Can't say the same for 774 in Melbourne - they lost a fair few listeners. So did 3AW, so I guess Melburnians switched off talkback radio for the final survey. Speaking of 3AW, they've had no real competition in Melbourne for a while so it'll be very interesting to see how they fare against Singo's new station.
And finally, Mix in Perth came close to losing after shedding almost 3%

. How long has it been since they lost a survey, 5-6 years?
