Has anyone else noticed the changed graphics for DW's The Journal and PBS's The NewsHour? God, they look great. The NewsHour looks less bland and dull (yay, revolving globe!) and The Journal's new supers are incredibly flexible.

And the programmes never fail to deliver important and relevant NCA - two of the best NCA programmes around.

If you have watched SBS lately at arond 6:50am, you would notice the Filipino news program "Bandila". This is the late night news program for the ABS-CBN network, and here's the intro to their flagship national broadcast, TV Patrol World.

We also have our fare share of local news broadcasts, covering pretty much each area of the Philippines. They vary in quality, some of them are like on a shoe-string budget, others are well off like the national broadcast. Here's the local newscast for the area of Laoag, Ilocos Norte in the Philippine's north.

TV Patrol..love it! Those openers look a bit like the intro to an action movie or something, it's not hard to see an American influence there.

Possibly the world's most beautiful news set and opener:

Fun fact: Amrita Cheema was last at DW-TV before moving to SBS.

Not bad at all. The set could do with some minor improvements, but overall I agree with your statement. Very nice :)

Most openers of News programs are the same: they show you the 4 or 5 topstories and 1 sport. The 2 largest TV stations in the Flemish part of Belgium are different. They only show 1 newsstory in their openers.

The openers of Het Journaal (The News) of the public broadcaster één

Het Journaal at 1 (13.00) opener and closing

A little something from my archives, the opener, the bumpers and the ending to a broadcast of TV Patrol back in 2004 when I was in the Philippines. Since I got a TV tuner now, I might as well digitise them and show them to you. All videos are encoded as DivX/Xvid AVI's.

http://www.deltacentralonline.com/otherstu...004_opening.avi - This first video is the opener, note the heavy American influence again.
http://www.deltacentralonline.com/otherstu...004_bumpers.avi - This video is the commercial break bumper, the traffic report, and a little "news spiel" after the break.
http://www.deltacentralonline.com/otherstu...2004_ending.avi - The weather segment and the ending to TV Patrol.

Does anyone have any requests for caps/video of things you would like to see from the US? I can't promise anything but I'll do the best I can to get whatever is requested :)

Presentation from the different networks (FTA & cable) and maybe opens of some of the cable news shows, please Kevin?
