I just saw the end of a hideous promo for what must of been Sky News' Business channel, the logo looked like Fox Business' but with a Sky News Logo

What is that new theme Sky News are using? I have only heard it a couple of times - I'm not sure if it is played at the start of every hour or not, but it is awful. I can't hear any of the Sky News signature tune in it.

Also - I noticed that they didn't have the numbers counting down to the start of the hour earlier. They had the montage and music but no numerical countdown. Is that a permanent change as well?

The current opener is disgusting, the countdown looks stupid and the theme music is horrible. It was a lot better when they used SNUK's club version of the Sky News theme, it also looks stupid when you have a club version that sounds nothing like SN's theme but then they play the original orchestral theme going to breaks!

Just had a look at OTH and had the numbers are there. Are you talking about the club version or the new one they are using tonight? The new one is fantastic.

It seems really odd that there was a countdown with no numbers then. I have seen it a couple of times already. It had the same pics in the montage as the countdown with numbers (except it has no numbers)... I’m sure there was some great reason for it.

If the new one is the music that sounds like it is something that has been grabbed from a production music cd and has no hint of the Sky News signature in it, then yes it’s that one, and no – I think it’s feral. With that said, I’m think that it may actually be a piece of production music. I’ve only heard it on the countdown twice – both when there were no numbers. Maybe it was just a filler or an alterative countdown they played by mistake.

I didn’t see any of Sky News after my post last night, but I think they played the new version at 9am (EST) – when I first switched on Sky News for today – that isn’t the one I was talking about it – I think it sounds good.

I looked up at the TV and thought Tracey Spicer was holding an A4 piece of paper over her chest - then I realised it was just her outfit she is wearing this afternoon. Made me look twice though.
